Impending Doom announce new EP ‘Hellbent’
IMPENDING DOOM have announced a new EP!
Titled Hellbent, the upcoming EP from the Californian deathcore band is their first new music since the release of 2018’s The Sin And Doom Vol II and is scheduled to be released in January next year, via MNRK Heavy.
Recorded with engineer Joseph Calleriro at Dungeon by the Sea in Los Angeles and mixed by longtime band collaborator Will Putney [KNOCKED LOOSE, THE GHOST INSIDE, THY ART IS MURDER], the upcoming EP intends to be a blistering five-song blast of readily identifiable brutality from the band, with just enough of a modern flourish.
Speaking about the upcoming EP, bassist David Sittig says, “we’ve never done an EP before this, and we spent a lot of time writing the music on Hellbent. We don’t traditionally have many surprises with the art, but we wanted to try something different. We’ve used the same couple of guys to create art for us, but Jim [Pavelec] had created this piece already and we loved it so much we decided to reach out to him.”
Alongside the announcement of the new EP, the band have released a new music video for the first song lifted from the upcoming EP; Satanic Panic. Speaking about the new song, vocalist Brook Reeves says, “Satanic Panic is a song about the occult and ritual abuse reaching the elite. But in the end, God will have the final judgement.”
