JJ Wilde and Billy Raffoul announce new EP ‘Born To Die’
JJ WILDE and BILLY RAFFOUL have announced a new collaborative EP!
Titled Born To Die, the upcoming EP sees the JUNO award winning rock star teaming up with the SOCAN award winning songwriter BILLY RAFFOUL for a three-track record which is scheduled to be released next Friday, via Black Box.
Recorded at Hamilton’s Catherine North Studios, Born To Die intends to channel the duets of FLEETWOOD MAC, THE CIVIL WARS, SHOVELS & ROPE and more, expertly showcasing the complimentary rock and roll stylings of each singer. For WILDE, the upcoming EP is her second release of 2021, following from the release of Wilde which was released back in May.
Speaking about the EP, Raffoul explains, “these three songs have so much variety between them. Born To Die is an anthemic rock song, while at the opposite end of the spectrum there’s Colours, a soft autumn-themed track. Bridging the two is Let Me Go, which is sonically powerful and gut-wrenching.” Wilde adds, “these are pretty emotional songs, in the best way. There are love songs and there’s heartache. We’re both big fans of rock and roll and you can hear it when we’re singing both separately and together on this EP.”
