John J. Presley releases new song ‘Silhouettes’
JOHN J. PRESLEY has released a new song!
Titled Silhouettes, it is the second single to be taken from the Brighton-based multi-instrumentalist’s upcoming new album Chaos & Calypso, which is scheduled to be released in October this year via God Unknown Records. It follows the release of Sinnerman in May this year.
Speaking about the track, Presley comments, “Silhouettes is about a marker in time, where you feel able to recreate the mould, to stand tall and be justified; to know that your gut was telling you the right thing all along. It’s quite freeing actually. The chorus is a call and response of ‘we come alone, we leave alone’; – a comment by an in-law relative from generations gone; how we arrive in this world alone and leave alone. I can’t work out if that’s deeply moving or infact quite lonely. Either way it paints a powerful image. Overall, the song is about your own story, your identity and purpose. I really wanted horns on this record and asked Terry Edwards to lay some down – he knew exactly what was needed. The horns represent that power of realisation. The wild, justified, excitement that emancipation brings once you stand tall.”
