Junior release new music video for ‘Don’t Know What I’d Do’
JUNIOR have released a new music video!
The new music video, for the track Don’t Know What I’d Do, is taken from the band’s upcoming debut album Beautiful Life which is scheduled to be released in August.
Speaking about the new song, guitarist Matt Attard says, “this song is about finding someone who pulls you out of a dark place, when you feel like you’re at your lowest. It could be a partner, a friend, or just anyone who has a positive impact on your life. It’s about being thankful for that interaction, even if you can’t verbalise how grateful you are. I feel like the imagery of the track is quite abstract, because sometimes it’s hard to articulate how you feel about the people you love, especially with the toxic expectation put on men to suppress their feelings, so you do what you can to describe it. Space plays an important part in this record thematically, as it can be seen as so aspirational and full of wonder, but at the same time, the idea of being lost in space seem so isolating and scary. I think I Don’t Know What I’d Do leans heavily on those themes because we’ve all felt scared and alone, but opening up and letting someone in can help you gain a whole new perspective. This was a great one to put together in the studio, as we got to use 7-string guitars to make really interesting textures. It’s the kind of instrument that’s mainly reserved for heavy metal, but we wanted to get out of our comfort zone and experiment – with the added bonus of getting to pretend to be Slipknot for a day!”
