Kaonashi announce debut album ‘Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year’
KAONASHI have announced their debut album!
Titled Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year, the upcoming album from the American emo mathcore quintet is their debut full-length album and is scheduled to be released in May this year, via Equal Vision Records/Unbeaten Records in the USA and Rude Records in Europe.
The upcoming album serves as a follow-up to 2018’s concept EP, Why Did You Do It?, continuing the story of their character Jamie and the people they interact with through Lemon House High.
“We want this record to make people anxious,” says vocalist Peter Rono. “We want them to feel a sense of urgency. If they catch themselves thinking that they could do something to change the story of the album, then maybe — just maybe – they will take steps to make a difference in the world around them.”
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new music video for the first song lifted from the upcoming album; An Evening of Moving Pictures With Scooter Corkle. Speaking about the new song, Rono adds, “when it came time to pick a single, I wanted to choose something that fully explained us as a band. It’s a song about love and the doubt that comes with it. We wrote this song together and I think it really shows, it’s also my first time really singing outside of a chorus. This will be a lot of people’s first impression of KAONASHI and I couldn’t be more proud of it.”
