Karen Dió releases new song ‘Stupid’
KAREN DIÓ has released a brand new song!
The new song, titled Stupid, is taken from the rising Brazilian punk rock artist’s upcoming new EP, My World, which is scheduled to be released in October this year, via Hopeless Records.
Speaking about the new song, the artist says, “Stupid is one of my favourite songs on the EP. It rips. It has this 2000’s punk rock energy which I love. It’s about realising you had been naive and that you didn’t stand up for yourself in certain situations.”

“I have to be so unattached to friends, things, and objects,” Dió admits, after moving numerous times growing up and whilst starting her music career. The Brazilian punk rocker on the rise has always lived with transient energy, but especially lately, as she adjusts to the ebb and flow of life after having her July 2023 single Sick Ride go wildly viral. “Sick Ride is a little bit outside what I normally do,” Dió admits. “It was quite out of my world and I really didn’t know what it was going to be. When I saw all the great feedback and millions and millions of people watching and playing the songs and stuff…it’s just crazy.”
As mentioned, the new song is taken from the artist’s upcoming new EP, My World. “My World sealed my comeback to the music industry, reassuring that here, making music, is where I belong,” says Dió about the EP. “It’s the first music I wrote after a two year break. The songs are short, real, catchy, and straight to the point! The title track has a mix of JOAN JETT with a Veruca Salt. That song is about my realisation that music is what I am meant to be doing with my life. Whether it’s in front of 10,000 people or just alone in my room, I will still be writing songs. Stupid is one of my favourite songs on the EP. It rips. It has this 2000’s punk rock energy which I love. My World is set for release on October 25th via Hopeless Records. Pre-orders will be available soon.
