KEN Mode announce new album ‘Void’
KEN MODE have announced a new album!
Titled Void, the upcoming album from the Canadian noise rock band is the follow-up to last year’s Null, and is scheduled to be released in September this year, via Artoffact Records.
Speaking about the upcoming album, guitarist/vocalist Jesse Matthewson says, “the album exposes the emotional core of combating mental illness when one’s fine-tuned coping and management mechanisms have been involuntarily stripped away, and they’re forced to navigate this intensely divided and miserable political climate through a global pandemic. The fury, fear, and confusion, followed by profound sadness and mourning, drags them down while it cuts and pummels, like they’re experiencing every one of their lowest moments over and over again.”
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new song from the upcoming album; The Shrike. Speaking about the new song, Matthewson says that it is their, “version of a classic driving rock song. Equal parts DRIVE LIKE JEHU and QOTSA, but with a cry for help so desperate you’ll be brought right back to being stuck in a cycle of hopelessness and asinine political unrest, not unlike 2020-2021. Not like much has changed.”
