Laurence Jones releases new music video for ‘You’re Not Alone’

LAURENCE JONES has released a new music video!

The new music video, for the track You’re Not Alone, is taken from the blues rock artist’s upcoming new album Bad Luck & The Blues, which is scheduled to be released in August this year via Marshall Records.

Speaking about the track, Jones comments, “This song is about the everyday struggles in life, about feeling down but always knowing you’re not the only one going through something difficult; I had this image when writing the song, that we are all in this together, and no matter who you are, or where you’re from… Everyone feels low from time to time. I grew up listening to LED ZEPPELIN, where the guitar riffs are iconic and a huge part of the song. I’d like to think I’ve put a slightly modern touch on this, while staying authentic. It’s one of my favourite tracks on the album, and it was one of the first songs I wrote, which helped shape the entire record. There’s nothing I love more than a big riffs and wild guitar solos!”

Bad Luck & The Blues follows Jones‘ 2022 full-length Destination Unknown. It was recorded at The Marshall Studio, mixed by Chris Sheldon (JEFF BECK, FOO FIGHTERS, RADIOHEAD) and mastered at the legendary Abbey Road Studios by Christian Wright (JACK BRUCE, ROBIN TROWER, TEN YEARS AFTER).

It sees Jones joined by long-time bassist Jack Alexander Timmis (VIRGIL & THE ACCELERATORS) and experienced session drummer Ash Sheehan (GLEN HUGHES, TONY IOMMI, THE TWANG).

Speaking about the album, Jones comments, “I started my career in a power-trio, and gradually moved away from that. Going back to those roots was an itch that I’d wanted to scratch for ages. Two of my biggest heroes were GARY MOORE and JIMI HENDRIX, and that’s the direction I wanted to go in, along with some more contemporary influences such as QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, JACK WHITE, and ROYAL BLOOD. My main point of reference on this album was ROBIN TROWER. I had been a fan for years, but I used lockdown to sink myself into his playing style and the tone he used.”
