Madder Mortem announce new album ‘Old Eyes, New Heart’
MADDER MORTEM have announced a new album!
Titled Old Eyes, New Heart, the upcoming album from the Norwegian progressive metal band is the follow-up to 2018’s Marrow, and is scheduled to be releases in January next year, via Dark Essence Records.
The upcoming album was recorded at Skytterhuset and Studio Omnivore on and off between May 2021 and February 2022. The album was engineered and mixed by BP M. Kirkevaag, produced by BPMK & the band and mastered by Peter In de Betou at Tailor Maid.
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; Towers. Speaking about the new song, the band says, “drawing inspiration from grunge, post-metal and 70s rock, Towers is about how people sometimes create defences in their heads to protect themselves. However, those defences can become too strong over time, and what was once built to lock out, becomes something that locks in.”
