Modern Era Festival announce 2026 lineup
Modern Era Festival has announced its return for 2026!
The three‑day event will once again take over the New Cross Inn, championing the best in modern metal. This year’s edition features headliners CONFESSIONS OF A TRAITOR (Friday), AVRALIZE (Saturday), and SHIELDS and THE NARRATOR (Sunday), alongside 16 additional bands across the weekend.
Friday sees London technical metal veterans CONFESSIONS OF A TRAITOR return to the capital, with multi‑vocalist tech outfit ESCHALON and AFTER SMOKE CLEARS debuting their new lineup in the city. The day opens with Aberdeen’s VOWS and London nu‑metal act WELLER.
Saturday welcomes AVRALIZE for their first-ever London headline. Following a breakout year surrounding their debut album Liminal, their set leads a packed day featuring PROFILER, RITUALS, ARCHIVES, COBER MOUTH, GLASS BRIDGES, DUSTHOUSE and TWIN SKELETONS.
The festival concludes on Sunday with co-headline performances from locals SHIELDS and returning German metalcore outfit THE NARRATOR, who recently toured the UK with ANNISOKAY. The day also features CABIN BOY JUMPED SHIP, wrapping up their tour with RXPTRS, the final-ever show from Bristol’s IMMERSE, SURVIVALIST and DIVINTAS.
Curated by Jason Best of Modern Misery Promotions, the festival aims to strengthen the modern metal scene and support grassroots venues.
