Mork announce new album ‘Monolitt’
MORK have announced a brand new album!
The Norwegian black metal project led by Thomas Eriksen will release their new album Monolitt on June 19th via Peaceville Records. Serving as the follow‑up to 2024’s Syv – which marked a major step in the band’s global rise, including tours across the Far East and Australia – the new record continues MORK’s evolution into darker, heavier terrain.
The upcoming album was recorded and performed primarily by Thomas Eriksen, with drums by Asgeir Mickelson and additional vocals by Øyvind Kaslegard. The album was mixed at Toproom Studio by Børge Finstad [MAYHEM] and mastered by Jack Control at Enormous Door [DARKTHRONE] and Maor Appelbaum at Appelbaum Mastering [SEPULTURA]. The cover art was created by Norwegian artist Kjell Åge Melland.
Speaking about the album’s overarching vision, Thomas Eriksen states, “a stark monument to the unrelenting brutality of reality, the monolith looms above us, immovable, indifferent, eternal. Its crushing presence bears down on the spirit, suffocating hope and testing the limits of endurance. It is an experience carved in stone, unyielding.”
Alongside the announcement, the band have released the first single, Ødelagt, accompanied by an official music video.
