Noctule announce debut album ‘Wretched Abyss’
NOCTULE have announced their debut album!
Titled Wretched Abyss, the upcoming album from the solo black metal project from SVALBARD‘s Serena Cherry is scheduled to be released in May this year, via Church Road Records.
During the UK national lockdown in 2020 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Serena decided to write an entire black metal album themed to the RPG game Skyrim. Each song is about different dungeons, story lines and weapons within the award-winning game. Speaking about the upcoming album, Serena says, “I have always associated Skyrim with black metal. The snowy mountain settings, the morbid themes, the Norse mythology backbone – it just goes hand in hand for me.”
Alongside the announcement of the new solo black metal album, the band has released a new music video for the first song taken from the upcoming debut album; the title track Wretched Abyss. The new music video was first premiered via Revolver.
