NYOS announce new album ‘Growl’
NYOS have announced a new album!
Titled Growl, the upcoming album from the Finnish instrumental duo is the follow-up to 2022’s Celebration and is scheduled to be released in October this year, via Pelagic Records.
Speaking about the new album, guitarist Tom Brooke says, “Growl is a real NYOS record – zero rules, or concept, but just pure freedom. I think sonically it has all the characteristics of some of our works, but I think that we both feel like this record is the first time we’ve ever truly managed to capture everything we want – all the angles/emotions/vibes came out just as we hoped/imagined.”
Alongside the album announcement, the band have released a brand new single from the upcoming album; titled Get Ready.
Speaking about the new single, Brooke comments, “we often have a vibe or some ideas we wanna try out. The songs though basically come from jamming – we’ll jam stuff and I record the jams, and then kinda backwards shape them into songs which we then re-record! So often the final structures will be set when doing the first guitar/loop recordings, but the ideas are always all there.”
