ONI release new music video for ‘Control’

ONI have released a new music video!

The new music video, for the track Control, is the brand new single from the Canadian progressive metalcore project and marks their first new music since their latest studio album, The Silver Line, which was released in October last year, via Ironshore Records.

The new song’s accompanying music video was created by Ben Watanabe of 555 Comic and is the initial episode of an animated series, written by frontman and band mastermind Jake Oni. Stylistically, traditional anime components are woven together with the band’s evolving sound. The colour palette and aesthetics are inspired by the muted tones of Afro Samurai.

Speaking about the new song, and its accompanying music video, band mastermind Jake Oni says, “this song is definitely some of my best work yet. Josh Gilbert wrote the song with me, and I tracked vocals at my studio in Cayman with Joe McQueen. Control has a different vibe than anything I’ve written before in terms of range of vocals. The song tells a story that’s brought to life in the music video by Ben Watanabe and his team at 555 Comic. It was a huge privilege to work with Ben on this project.”
