Only Human announce debut album ‘Planned Obsolescence’

ONLY HUMAN have announced a brand new album!

The Danish progressive metal upstarts have announced their debut album, Planned Obsolescence, which is set for release on March 27th via Season of Mist. The record introduces the band’s forward‑thinking take on modern prog, built around a conceptual framework exploring technocracy, societal control and the erosion of human autonomy.

Speaking about the album’s direction, vocalist and producer Patrick Grønbæch Christensen says:
“We wanted ONLY HUMAN to be about something. Planned Obsolescence is supposed to wake people up to all the ways technocracy is encroaching on society. We now live in a reality where humans are products to be consumed and disposed.”

To celebrate the announcement, ONLY HUMAN have released the album’s lead single Automata, accompanied by a new music video. Discussing the single, Christensen says, “we’ve offloaded critical thought. We’re not really doing things because we want to do them. It’s because an algorithm has decided that’s what we should do. When the world is going badly, the reason is because people gave up. Things aren’t hopeless. We can absolutely fight back. Hopefully, this album gets people to think about valuing humanity over profit.”
