Our Nameless Boy announce new EP ‘Thorns’

OUR NAMELESS BOY have announced a brand new EP!

Titled Thorns, the upcoming EP is the follow-up to their 2021 album Colour From The Doves and continues the Bristol-based alt‑rock band’s shift from deeply personal themes toward broader reflections on the modern human condition. The EP is set for release on April 10th via Bandcamp, and will arrive on all other platforms from April 17th.

Alongside the EP announcement, the band have released a brand new single, ’38, the first track lifted from the upcoming release, accompanied by an official music video. Speaking about the new song, vocalist/guitarist Iain Gorrie says, “I wrote ’38 almost two years ago, during the first of what is now many times that I felt like the end of the world was imminent. As well as referencing what many these days might list as contributing factors to the downfall of humanity (greed, ignorance, and the press all get a mention – “… as sirens air until they fade behind the lines with, ‘This is not as ‘38…”), the song is trying to put across that, no matter what your perspective is on major, far-reaching events in the world, ultimately when they land on your door, they will take you by surprise. Our usual dynamic shifts serve pretty well to hit this point home, and the intro tries to take this one step further with a rhythmic misdirect that tries to catch you off guard. Like the end of the world probably would when it actually comes.”
