Our Nameless Boy release new music video for ‘(Not in My Name)’
OUR NAMELESS BOY have released a new music video!
Bristol‑based alt‑rock band OUR NAMELESS BOY have released a new track, (Not In My Name), alongside an accompanying music video. The track marks the second single from their upcoming EP Thorns, which is set for release on April 10th via Bandcamp and April 17th on all other platforms.
Speaking about the new song, vocalist and guitarist Iain Gorrie explains, “(Not In My Name) highlights the hollowness I often perceive in political speeches and discourse; that there are certain things that almost shouldn’t need to be said, and then when they are, it feels like there’s no substance or action to back those words up.”
He continues, discussing the video, “with the video for ’38 being very cinematic, with (Not in My Name) we wanted to stick to a more performance based video. Our good friend, videographer and I, THE LION singer, Chris Evans, suggested using mirrors as the main aesthetic, and we quite liked that we could metaphorically hold these mirrors up to the main character in the song, who is using their platform to publicly denounce the actions of others whilst doing nothing to actually counter such actions; ‘mirroring’ the kind of posturing we often see from politicians in the House of Commons. Having little to no eye contact from us as we’re performing highlights how this character refuses to take a good look…”
