Plagues release new music video for ‘Pledge’

PLAGUES have released a new music video!

The new music video, for the track Pledge, is the brand new single from the UK theatrical metalcore band and follows on from their previous single, Sentinel, which was released back in June 2020.

Speaking about the new single, band leader and protagonist Osorio says, “Pledge is a poignant and powerful ballad about the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of holding on to one’s dreams in the face of adversity. The lyrics, which chronicle a journey beset by challenges including depression and doubt, convey the narrator’s steadfast commitment to their goals despite the obstacles they encounter. The song’s introspective and introverted opening, with its subdued instrumental backing and softly sung top line, effectively captures the sense of weariness and fatigue that the narrator speaks of in the lyrics.

As the song progresses, however, the music grows in intensity and the narrator’s vocals become more assertive, culminating in a triumphant and uplifting declaration that they will overcome any obstacle and be ‘the Light’. The soaring melody and driving beat of the song’s latter half effectively convey the message of unwavering devotion, making Pledge a powerful and inspiring anthem of hope and perseverance. It serves as a reminder that even when the trials of life seem insurmountable, belief in oneself and unwavering commitment to one’s goals can lead to overcoming any challenge.”
