Pleiades announce debut album ‘Affinity With’
PLEIADES have announced their debut album!
Titled Affinity With, the upcoming album from the Manchester-based post-hardcore band is their debut full-length album and is scheduled to be released in September this year, via self-release. The debut album comes on the back of the band’s latest EP, All At Your Mercy, which was released back in 2019.
Alongside the announcement of the debut album, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; Treppenwitz. The new song is the latest single to be released from the upcoming debut album, following on from Siberian, Looming and Stomach.
Speaking about the new song, vocalist Andrew Calderbank says, “I’ve written a lot of conceptual story driven songs and this felt more immediate and personal so I wanted it to concentrate on my own self reflection. I’d read a book that my friend Ra’ees had recommended to me on vigilance and self reflection. I paraphrased some of it and related it to me personally. ‘How can you desire purity , when you yourself are so unclean’ is the first line of the song and it sums up the message perfectly.”
