PREMIERE: By Design – Cosmic Ninja

We here at Distorted Sound are delighted to premiere the new music video from COSMIC NINJA!

The new music video, for the track By Design, is taken from the Bristol-based alternative/electronic newcomers’ debut EP, Dissident Transmission, which was released back in April.

Speaking about the song and its accompanying music video, bassist Robin De Wandelaer tells us, “we wrote this song in 2019 in reaction to what was going on in our country at the time; how powerless we felt against the decisions that were made on our behalf. By Design is about rising up against injustice everywhere, about keeping the elite in check, holding the greedy accountable, having the people heard, and highlighting the importance of standing in defiance.

We decided to illustrate these ideas back in 2021 by filming this music video in which unarmed civilians face the ultimate personification of overwhelming power and tyranny. Since then, we have been shocked to see that what was for us at the time a simple artistic metaphor has now become a frightening reality for those in Ukraine, not to mention the countless other conflicts around the globe that are equally destructive.”
