PREMIERE: Euphoria – Chiasmata

Distorted Sound is beyond privileged to premiere the debut single from rising UK progressive metallers CHIASMATA!

Despite being in existence for merely five months, the four piece progressive metal act from Manchester are certainly a band on the rise. With influences ranging from THE CONTORTIONIST, EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY and GOJIRA, the soundscape of CHIASMATA is both entrancing and dreamy, and we at Distorted Sound are beyond delighted to premiere the band’s debut single; Euphoria.

Speaking about the debut single, the band says, “whether it’s as an introduction to what CHIASMATA is all about on our debut EP, or as a regular closer for our live show, this track stands out for a number of reasons. The longest track in our repertoire thus far, its uplifting progressions and winding melodies contrast the heavier direction taken in other tracks to this point. The vocal-driven approach may leave a first-time listener surprised by the turns taken in later tracks, but the solid foundation that this track lays ensures that no musical direction seems too drastic. Some of the melodies and motifs that this song establishes find new life in these later tracks, giving what we feel is a real sense of cohesion and continuity despite the amount of musical ground covered. A sign of things to come and yet just a taste of what we hope to offer, we feel that this track stands alone very well.”
