PREMIERE: Please – Wheel

Distorted Sound is delighted to premiere the brand new music video from progressive rockers WHEEL!

The new music video, for the track Please, is taken from the band’s upcoming new EP The Divide which is scheduled to be released this Friday!

Speaking about the track and music video, frontman James Lascelles says, Please is a song about media polarisation and how complex issues are regularly reduced to binary choices. We believe that people are far less stupid than mass media often assumes and that more in depth discussion would benefit society as a whole; the lyrics to Please became a therapeutic rant about this. This is a subject that feels as relevant as ever in 2018 and as I am sure you can hear, there is a lot of vitriol and self-righteous anger in the words; it felt really good to get them out of my head and into one of our songs. Despite its relative simplicity to the other songs on the EP, it took a long time to write this; we were tweaking the structure and arrangement for nearly six months before we landed on something we were all happy with. We made the video with the same team who made our previous video for Farewell and we love the dramatic camerawork and editing they always manage to achieve when we work with them – they are masters of their craft. Kim (The editor) took inspiration from a Clint Eastwood film where this creepy face was burning in a fireplace and juxtaposed this with the more energetic performance shots we captured from our old rehearsal space in Konala, Helsinki. We are super happy with the result and are already discussing working together again in the future.”
