Randy Blythe Released from Czech Prison
Since his arrest on June 27 the imprisonment of Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe has been a bizarre case, with multiple appeals of bail denied and increasing concern that he would be imprisoned for alleged manslaughter. Now, more than a month since his arrest news has finally broke that Randy Blythe has been released from the Czech prison.
A spokesman for the prison Randy was being held confirmed that he was released yesterday afternoon. The Prague Municipal Court’s ruling against the prosecutor of the Prague 8 District Court was made on Thursday afternoon behind closed doors. Prague court spokeswoman Martina Lhotáková states; “The decision was reached yesterday at the end of a 16-hour closed session. The only condition of release was the approximately 8 million Czech Koruna bail”.
Randy Blythe’s Czech attorney Martin Radvan told Radio Prague that he expects Blythe to be able to return home but will at some point have to return to the Czech Republic to face trial. This can only be seen as good news after a prolonged and bizarre period of events, I wish a safe trip home for Randy!
