River Fury announce debut EP ‘5 Year Plan’
RIVER FURY have announced their debut EP!
Titled 5 Year Plan, the upcoming EP is the debut effort from the London-based rockers and is scheduled to be released in November this year!
The upcoming record was recorded at London’s Hermitage Studios and features production from Ed Ripley (GOAT GIRL). Speaking about concept behind the EPs title and the EP itself, vocalist/guitarist Pat Nutton says, “it revolves around a person who can’t seem to get with the idea of settling down with a plan for his life, and instead rues it. We wanted to make a fairly big sounding rock record, one that didn’t shy or mince its riffs or words. When we wanted to make it loud we made it loud and when we wanted it a bit more subtle and soothing we did that. Some of my other musical exploits are a bit more rough and ready and lo-fi but we didn’t feel the need for holding back from layering harmonies or conversely being discordant.”
Alongside the announcement of the new EP, the band have revealed the first single from the upcoming record; titled Wasteful. Speaking about the track, vocalist/guitarist Dan Howe says, “Wasteful is one of our heavier, chaotic punk rock songs with an insidious chorus and a little bit of psych styling. It’s definitely a direction I’d like to take but we’re still exploring sounds as a band, putting stuff out and seeing what works.”
