Shelf Lives announce debut album ‘Hypernormal’

London electro-bass punk duo SHELF LIVES have announced their debut album!

Titled Hypernormal, the record is scheduled to be released on February 25th, 2026 via Not Sorry Mom Records.

Produced by imdead, the 11-track album captures the band at their most uncompromising – blistering, self-aware, and disturbingly danceable. It features collaborations with Danio (FRED AGAIN.., JOY ANONYMOUS), Pat Alvarez (BLESSED MADONNA, JOY CROOKES), and Lola Sam from HOT WAX, with mixing by Matteo Buccomino and mastering at Abbey Road Studios.

Speaking about the upcoming album, the band says, “beneath all the noise, Hypernormal is our attempt at trying to feel real again. It’s our way of asking, ‘what does it mean to be human when everything around you is pretending to be?’. We’re trying to stay sane in a culture that is overexposed, exploitative, and performative. There is a focus on wanting to be seen and wanting to disappear, on rage and resignation. Hypernormal isn’t a concept album – it’s what happens when you write music in a world that’s falling apart and everyone calls it content. We are all normies now. Kiss the frog.”

Alongside the album announcement, SHELF LIVES have released a brand new single, 2phoneS, which follows on from previous single, like heR, which was released back in September.

“We have 2 arms, 2 ears, 2 legs, 2 eyes. As above, so below. 2phoneS is duality; the Gemini, the fight between two different parts of yourself, yin and yang,” the band explains. “You know, if you don’t try, then you can’t lose. That type of thing.”
