Sirenia announce new album ‘1977’
SIRENIA have announced a new album!
Titled 1977, the upcoming album from the Norwegian symphonic metal band is the follow-up to 2021’s Riddles, Ruins & Revelations, and is scheduled to be released in May this year, via Napalm Records.
Norwegian bandleader, multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter Morten Veland produced the 11th record, while HK at Vamacara Studio, France, took care of the mixing.
Alongside the announcement of the upcoming album, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; Twist In My Sobriety. The new song is a cover of TANITA TIKARAM‘s 1988 pop hit.
Speaking about the new song, Veland says, “Twist In My Sobriety is the first single from our upcoming album entitled 1977. This is the bonus track of our 11th album, and it is a cover version of TANITA TIKARAM‘s original from 1988. I have loved this song since it was released, and it has a very melancholic vibe to it, so it felt like an interesting project to make a SIRENIA version of it. I hope that you will enjoy it while we wait for the upcoming album release.”
