Slam Dunk Festival reveal seven new bands
Seven new bands have been announced for this year’s Slam Dunk Festival!
After announcing the likes of SUM 41, THE INTERRUPTERS, KENNYHOOPLA, PENNYWISE and more last month, now, another seven bands have been announced for the UK’s biggest alternative party!
Leading the charge in the latest announcement is NECK DEEP, who land a headlining slot joining ALEXISONFIRE, SUM 41 and DROPKICK MURPHYS on the top slots. Also announced is CANCER BATS, THE BRONX, US pop-rockers THE SUMMER SET, Nottingham’s AS DECEMBER FALLS, Californian acts POINT NORTH and MOM JEANS, both who will make their festival debut.
Speaking about headlining this year’s festival, Ben Barlow of NECK DEEP says, “we’re really stoked to be back at Slam Dunk. It’s one of our favourite fests to play and there really isn’t anything else like it. It feels like our whole world is right there at Slam Dunk. We’ve worked our way up over the years playing various different slots and it’s an honour to be one of the main acts this year. It’s been way too long since we’ve been back at the fest, we usually do something special around it so expect something cool in the run up. Or at the very least, a daft t shirt or two. See you there!”
Liam Cormier of CANCER BATS says, “super stoked to announce that our RETURN TO THE UK WILL BE AT SLAM DUNK 2022! There’s so many rad new things for CANCER BATS this year, we can’t wait to share it with all of our UK pals and what better place than THE BIGGEST PARTY THEY’RE ALL GOING TO BE AT! ALSO It must be noted that there’s going to be some serious CANADA vibes on our stage and we’re pumped to be a part of that!”
Matt Caughthran of THE BRONX adds, “England! We have missed you terribly and cannot wait to come fuck shit up at Slam Dunk 2022. This time it’s for real!” Whilst Brian Logan Dales of THE SUMMER SET says, “we couldn’t be more thrilled to return to Slam Dunk Festival after all of these years. It’s been way too long since we’ve been to the UK, our old home away from home, and we’re so excited to finally come back and play some shows across the pond.” And Bethany Hunter of AS DECEMBER FALLS says, “we’ve been going to Slam Dunk Festival every year since we were teenagers and getting the opportunity to play on Rock Sound’s Breakout stage in 2018 was unreal for us. After the whirlwind few years we’ve had since, to know that we’ll be back on the other side of the barrier this summer is genuinely a dream come true.”
Slam Dunk Festival North will take place on Friday June 3rd 2022 at Temple Newsam and Slam Dunk South will take place on Saturday June 4th at Hatfield Park. Tickets are available now and can be purchased here.
