Slayer to release ‘Repentless’ on 9/11
American heavyweight thrashers, Slayer, have announced the title of their upcoming record with a release date of September 11th, 2015.
Entitled Repentless, Slayer’s 11th studio record, marks the first Slayer record with Gary Holt on guitar and Paul Bostaph on drums. It is also the first studio record since founding member Jeff Hanneman passed away in 2013.
The 12 track record is poised for release on September 11th, 2015 – the anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Slayer have released on this infamous date previously, 2001’s God Hates Us All was released on that tragic day.
In a recent interview with Metal Hammer magazine UK Kerry King spoke about some of the tracks that will feature on Repentless.
“There’s a couple of songs that are going to be on it that the fans might know,” he said. “‘Atrocity Vendor’ was released in the States on the B-side of some single, so now it’s ‘Atrocity Vendor 2015’. It’s completely re-recorded. It’s got new leads, new vocals, Paul playing drums … it’s pretty cool. There’s a brand new version of ‘Implode’ on there. The version of ‘When The Stillness Comes’ is brand new compared to the single that came out for last month’s Record Store Day.”
Repentless will be released on September 11th, 2015 via Nuclear Blast Records.
