Soilwork talk about the current state of the music industry
SOILWORK have released a new video!
With the release of their brand new album Verkligheten (read our review here) agonisingly close, the Swedish melodic death metal maestros are ready to take the next step in their distinguished career.
Since 1995, the band have gone on to enjoy a very fruitful career in the upper echelons of heavy music and as such, they themselves have experienced first-hand how the music industry has evolved and changed across the years.
In the video, which is available to watch exclusively below, vocalist Björn Strid and guitarist David Andersson reflect on how the music industry has changed, its current state, and how it impacts their band moving forward.

Continuing to talk about their brand new album, Björn Strid tells Distorted Sound, “Verkligheten means reality in Swedish, it came up a couple of years ago. At the time it didn’t seem right. When we were writing the new album we noticed it sounded very Scandinavian with the melodies and the lyrical themes. It seemed like the perfect title. Some of the lyrics are really socially realistic and others are more full of escapism and it’s really facing reality or finding a way to escape it which makes the title even better I think.”
Verkligheten is due for release on January 11th via Nuclear Blast Records. Pre-orders are available now and can be purchased here.
