Temple Of Void announce new album ‘The Crawl’

TEMPLE OF VOID have announced a brand new album!

The Detroit death/doom metal band have announced their highly anticipated fifth full‑length album, The Crawl, set for release on March 6th, 2026 via Relapse Records. The album is the follow-up to 2022’s Summoning The Slayer.

Tracked during a brutally cold week in January at Kurt Ballou’s GodCity Studio in Salem, MA, the album captures an intensely human, unvarnished sound. Assisted by Zach Weeks, with mastering by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, The Crawl delivers raw‑edged guitars, punishing low‑end and an in‑the‑room drum presence that enhances the record’s immediacy and grit.

Speaking about the new album, guitarist Alex Awn shares, “the biggest shift for me on this record was not feeling like we had to fly the ‘death‑doom banner’ as part of our identity. Death‑doom, as a genre, gave us something to anchor our sound around when we started. It was always a reference and touchstone. At the same time, we always wanted to make sure we had our own spin on it. We’ve always been adding to the conversation, adding to the genre, giving our point of view. A huge part of what makes a TEMPLE OF VOID record is the non‑death‑doom influences that make up our DNA. And on album five we never once asked ourselves, ‘Do we have enough death metal? Do we have enough doom metal?’ We simply wrote a heavy‑ass record — let the chips fall where they may.”

To coincide with the announcement, the band have released a brand new single, The Crawl, the album’s title track. Directed by The C.O.I.N. [INCANTATION, GRUESOME], the video for The Crawl showcases the band’s raw, brooding aesthetic with visuals that echo the record’s themes of psychological decay, consequence, and the darker recesses of human existence.
