The Dollyrots announce new album ‘Night Owls’
THE DOLLYROTS have announced a new album!
Titled Night Owls, the upcoming album from the American pop-punk band is the follow-up to 2019’s Daydream Explosion, and is scheduled to be released in October this year, via Wicked Cool Records and The Orchard.
For the new album, the duo enlisted the services of longtime collaborator John Fields [JIMMY EAT WORLD, ALL TIME LOW, MEET ME @ THE ALTAR] who handled production duties for the record alongside the duo. Mixing was also done by John Fields, recording and engineering was done by John Fields and Luis [Cabezas, guitars/vocals], and mastering was handled by Will Quinnell at Sterling Sound. The album was recorded across three locations – Creation Audio Studio B in Minneapolis, Renegade Studios in New York City and Harmonic Mermaid in the band’s home town of Tampa, Florida.
Speaking about the upcoming album, bassist/vocalist Kelly Ogden says, “time for this one, you know, since the world stopped, it’s a lot like a first album. We had so many bits and pieces and once we could finally get into the studio it all just flew out of us, like we had been holding something vital & urgent in for years. Because we had. If you love THE DOLLYROTS you’ll love Night Owls. If you don’t know THE DOLLYROTS, you’ll probably love it too.”
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new song from the upcoming album; When We’re Sober.
