The Salt Pale Collective unveil debut single ‘Charnel Plains/Whore Abyss’
THE SALT PALE COLLECTIVE have released a brand new track!
Their debut single is from their impending self titled EP which is due for release later this month. This twelve minute beast from the North of England combines jarring instrumentation, a chilling combination of melodic and harsh tones accompanied by a whole host of electronic/synth elements, taking you on a wild journey of experimentation.
Speaking about this project, one half of the talented Cumbrian vocal duo, Dave says “I have always been drawn to cinematic soundscapes, low-tuned chords juxtaposed with chanting vocals and melancholic nostalgia is the kind of writing I have always sought, working with a voice as savage as Alex and with someone who encapsulates pure mood with his electronics as Dan does has been liberating for me.”
“Sound obsessed since birth, lockdown-fuelled synth explorations posted online led providing Dave (the Cumbrian nightingale) with all manner of drones, creaks and incoherent rumblings to turn into actual songs” adds Dan. “Despite not actually being Florian Fricke, I have re-discovered my love for holding down one keyboard note for an unreasonable amount of time. Lack of musical knowledge leads to all manner of equally delightful and hideous things I find. Without me and Alex I think the band would sound like Jane McDonald fronting early BMTH. And that’s simply not allowable.”
