The Velveteers announce new album ‘A Million Knives’
THE VELVETEERS have announced a new album!
Titled A Million Knives, the upcoming album from the Colorado-based rock band is the follow-up to 2021’s Nightmare Daydream, and is scheduled to be released in February next year, via Easy Eye Sound.
For the new album, the band collaborated with Grammy-winning producer and THE BLACK KEYS lead vocalist Dan Auerbach.
Frontwoman Demi Demitro created A Million Knives with her bandmates after a particularly gruelling stretch of life on the road, as a way to process feeling used and fed up in the face of vulnerability. The album explores the typically-unspoken tolls of navigating a system that’s often less-than-compassionate; especially as a non-binary, queer and woman led rock ‘n’ roll band.
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; Go Fly Away. The song was co-written and co-produced by Auerbach and Patrick Carney – marking the first time THE BLACK KEYS have produced together for another artist.
