Thrice announce new album ‘Horizons/East’
THRICE have announced a new album!
Titled Horizons/East, the upcoming album from the American rock band is the follow-up to 2018’s Palms and is scheduled to be released in September this year, via Epitaph Records.
The upcoming album was mixed by Scott Evans, whilst the band self-produced and recorded the album at their own New Grass Studio. The upcoming album intends to exemplify art as a work of recognition: the human task of perceiving oneself amid details, disasters, and blessings as a relentlessly relational phenomenon, among others.
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released the first song to be lifted from the upcoming album; Scavengers. For vocalist Dustin Kensrue, the song is, but also kind of isn’t, a thing of the past. Whether lost in a media diet that is essentially a disinformation pipeline or, relatedly, trapped in fear of a future of eternal conscious pain, Kensrue speaks of “toxic worldviews I once inhabited,” and in truth, “a lot of people that I love are still in that place.”
