Throat announce new album ‘Smile Less’
THROAT have announced a new album!
Titled Smile Less, the upcoming album from the Finnish noise rock band is their third full-length album and is scheduled to be released in May this year, via Svart Records.
Just like 2018’s Bareback, the band’s second album and first one for Svart Records, the upcoming album was recorded at Tonehaven Recording Studio with Tom Brooke, mixed by Andrew Schneider [UNSANE, CULT OF LUNA, CAVE IN] and mastered by Carl Saff [BIG BUSINESS, KEN MODE, YOUNG WIDOWS]. Artwork was designed by Canadian artist Paul Van Trigt.
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new music video for the first song from the upcoming album; Shots.
Speaking about the new song, the band says, “Shots is the most obvious link between our previous album, Bareback and Smile Less. Upbeat noisy rock’n’roll with a glorious lead guitar passage drawing the silver lining to the polluted cloud depicted in the lyrics. The song was already supposed to appear on Bareback, but didn’t feel finished enough, so we decided to completely destroy it, glue it back together and the improved version can now be heard on Smile Less. It’s called self-destruction, look it up.”
