Thumpermonkey announce new album ‘Make Me Young, Etc’
THUMPERMONKEY have announced a new album!
The new album, titled Make Me Young, Etc, is the latest offering from the London alt-rock quartet and is scheduled to be released in October this year.
The album is a concept record that counts down to the end of existence and to coincide with the album’s announcement, the band have launched a new music first for first single Veldt.
Speaking about the track, guitarist and vocalist Michael Woodman says, “when I originally came up with Veldt, I’d been listening to the inscrutable nightmare soundscapes of noughties Scott Walker, (particularly tracks where he would take something sweet and add uncomfortable drones – emotional resonances that were difficult to process in terms of words like ‘happy’ or ‘sad’). I wanted to do something like that. This is technically a love song.”
