Torus announce debut self-titled album
TORUS have announced their debut album!
The upcoming album, a self-titled effort, is the debut full-length album from the Milton Keynes-based rock band and is scheduled to be released in September this year, via MNRK Music/Inside Job.
For the debut album, the band worked with much-loved producer Thomas Mitchener [FRANK CATER/GALLOWS, THE DAMNED, WARGASM< NOAHFINNCE] and mastering engineer Grant Berry [ALL TIME LOW, HOT MILK, BUSTED].
Speaking about the upcoming debut album, vocalist/guitarist Alfie Glass says, “the sound of TORUS is one that we aim to take simple, catchy hooks with good songwriting at their heart, and then make them heavy. I think TORUS is the best version and clearest realisation of that aim that we’ve ever achieved.”
Alongside the announcement of the debut album; TORUS have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; When It Comes. The new song is the third single to be released from the upcoming album, following on from Into The Clear and Avalanche.
The new music video for When It Comes (once again, self-produced by bass player Harry Quinn) is a homage to the KYUSS seminal classics Green Machine and One Inch Man shot on the iconic Camber Sands beach.
“When It Comes is a song all about that exciting feeling you get when you’re breaking out of a long, frustrating and difficult time,” Glass says. “It was written around the time there was a huge amount of tension in the band and also me dealing with my post-breakup mess. It’s that feeling when you can see the light at the end of the tunnel and know it’s all gonna turn round for the better.”
