Ungraven announce debut album ‘Hollows Made Homes In Their Sunken Cheeks’
UNGRAVEN have announced their debut album!
Titled Hollows Made Homes In Their Sunken Cheeks, the upcoming album from the Liverpool-based drone/doom metal band is their debut full-length album, and is scheduled to be released in April this year, via Heavy Psych Sounds. The debut album follows on from 2021’s split EP with SLOMATICS.
With this band, the duo of Jon Davis [CONAN] and David Perry [formerly of THE LAEZ, CONAN, DEAD VOID] launch a glacial barrage of heaviness, using synths, keys, organ, vocoder and guitar, conjuring images of social decline projected across imagined landscapes of a ruined future.
Alongside the announcement of the debut album, UNGRAVEN have released a new excerpt from the first monolithic song; Nothing Is Less Than Zero.
Speaking about the song, the band shares, “pillars of granite burst forth from the earth. Their looming presence forcing frozen awe upon all that stand beneath. Impenetrable shadows suffocate and disorientate, as the monoliths continue to plough endlessly into the infinite. Shrouded by black, forever turns into never, and we are overwhelmed and dizzied into nausea by the unimaginably colossal nature of Nothingness.”
