Vertex release new music video for ‘All My Hatred’
VERTEX have released a new music video!
The new music video, for the track All My Hatred, offers a first glimpse of the French groovy math metal band’s upcoming debut album The Purest Light, which is scheduled to be released in January next year via Le Cri du Charbon. The music video was directed by Mlle Dou aka Alice Masera.
Speaking about the track, vocalist Kik Mastan comments, “The lyrics to All My Hatred were written very instinctively. I was betrayed by someone I cared for a lot and was very close to. I have a sympathetic disposition, I’m the kind of person who likes people and this episode really hurt me. The lyrics are simply about that, thanks to the music that guided me towards that theme. It’s a gritty track, with a gratuitously nasty start. The song develops and I love the ending, which kills me every time. For me, music is therapy. It was Reuno from the band LOFOFORA who once said “I yell into a microphone so I don’t have to go to a psychologist”. That’s what this song represents. It’s like pushing iron or doing intense sport, it’s a real outlet, and I wanted to join in with that in both content and form. I “spit on this person’s face”, but as I say at the end, it’s like a song I’m offering to him. I’m in no way calling for physical violence, this hatred I’m shouting is my response to the deep disgust I’ve experienced with the human race.”
