Vitriol announce new album ‘Suffer & Become’

VITRIOL have announced a new album!

Titled Suffer & Become, the upcoming album from the American death metal band is the follow-up to 2019’s To Bathe From The Throat Of Cowardice, and is scheduled to be released in January next year, via Century Media Records.

The upcoming album was produced by guitarist/vocalist Kyle Rasmussen and mixed by Dave Otero [ARCHSPIRE, CATTLE DECAPITATION]. “I was starving for something that didn’t pull any punches,” says Rasmussen. “Death metal was important to me because it speaks to an aggression, a frustration that I had when I was younger. It wasn’t just a sonic connection but an emotional connection, which made music almost a means to an end. What I saw happening in extreme metal at the time was almost a removal of emotion in favor of musicality, that fire, that piss and vinegar spirit. Basically, I wanted something that wanted me dead.”

Alongside the announcement of the new album, VITRIOL have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; The Flowers Of Sadism.

Speaking about the new song, Rasmussen says, “Flowers… explores the topic of early developmental trauma and the resulting emotional alchemy that can lead to the development of sadistic impulses. While not being an ideal strategy in the presence of healthier alternatives, embracing my more vicious instincts was the key to my psychological and emotional survival at a time when my environment was both hostile and inescapable. It marks the beginning of a complicated journey of seduction by the necessary evils adopted in the pursuit of that survival.”
