VLTIMAS announce new album ‘Epic’
VLTIMAS have announced a new album!
Titled Epic, the upcoming album from the extreme metal trio is the long-awaited follow-up to 2019’s Something Wicked Marches In, and is scheduled to be released in March next year, via Season Of Mist.
The upcoming album was recorded by producer Jaime Gomez Arellano [PARADISE LOST, GRAVE MIASMA] with engineer Jonathan Mazzeo [FIRST FRAGMENT, SICKENING] at Arda Recorders in Porto, Portugal. The band tracked the album throughout May 2023 and Arellano also handled the mix and master. “The world throws us all trials and tribulations constantly,” says the band. “We use this angst as a weapon in our art to score the apocalypse.”
“Epic is old meets contemporary, a symbiosis of all the great things we love about extreme metal,” says guitarist Rune Blasphemer Eriksen. “All combined into one album.” Vocalist David Vincent adds, “I want to be as emotional and honest [with VLTIMAS]. I want to tell stories; I want to have the themes that appeal to me; I want to have some messaging that someone can take away, in this case, strength. Epic is strength.”
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; Miserere.
