where mermaids drown release new music video for ‘Statues Learn To Weep’

WHERE MERMAIDS DROWN have released a new music video!

The new music video, for the track Statues Learn To Weep, is taken from the Lyon-based post-rock quartet’s upcoming album Reminisce, which is scheduled to be released in April this year. The track follows the band’s previous single Apophenia and the video was directed by Jean-Paul Trivel.

Speaking about the new song, the band comment, “Statues Learn To Weep is like a descendant of Brine Pool from our debut EP. It’s a formula that worked well live, as a very epic track with a striking build-up. We wanted to repeat the pattern for this middle of the album. In the context of Reminisce, it is the representation of when a relationship ends. A difficult moment, but one that gives way to relief, through this bright opening. The song’s video echoes the fact that you want to fashion a statue in your own image out of narcissism, only to find out it doesn’t work, and become confused with disillusionment.”

Reminisce is set for release on April 7th via self-release. Pre-orders are available now and can be purchased here.
