Wolverine announce new album ‘Anomalies’

WOLVERINE have announced a brand new album!

The Swedish progressive metal quintet will release their long-awaited sixth studio album Anomalies on February 6th, 2026 via Music Theories Recordings.

Marking their first full-length in a decade, the album follows 2016’s Machina Viva and 2021’s EP A Darkened Sun, and sees the band return with renewed purpose and emotional depth.

Alongside the announcement, the band have released the first single A Perfect Alignment, a cinematic and atmospheric track that opens a trilogy on the album, followed by Circuits and the album’s opening track A Sudden Demise.

Speaking about the new single, vocalist Stefan Zell says, “this is actually the first part of a trilogy of songs on the album. The second part being Circuits and the third being the album’s opening track A Sudden Demise.”

Drummer Marcus Losbjer adds, “the initial seed to this song originates maybe about 20 years back, written for a planned concept album that never saw the light of day. It contains several parts based around 5/4, which align together in the end.”

Lyrically, Anomalies explores themes of ageing, anxiety, and personal growth. Zell reflects, “I didn’t know where I was going. What should I do that will bear meaning in the future? Feeling lost. That is a theme in a way that runs through several songs. I’m happy to say that I’m in a better place today, eight years later.”
