Wren announce new album ‘Black Rain Falls’
WREN have announced a new album!
Titled Black Rain Falls, the upcoming album from the London-based sludge metal band is the follow-up to 2020’s Groundswells, and is scheduled to be released in February next year, via Church Road Records.
The theme of the new record intends to showcase the shared grief of the band members, who tragically lost a close friend to suicide during the pandemic. Black Rain Falls intends to serve as a coping strategy for the band to navigate through the loss.
Speaking about the upcoming album, the band shares, “the new record is a crystallisation of the conceptual voice-giving to natural collapse, humanity’s decline and the shadowed spectre that has imbued WREN since the beginning.”
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new song from the upcoming album; Metric Of Grief. Speaking about the new song, the band shares, “Metric Of Grief is about the multitude of ways in which grief impacts all aspects of life when experiencing loss. Basic functioning becomes laborious. Being feels measurable only in hardship.”
