Cold Years announce new album ‘Goodbye To Misery’

COLD YEARS have announced a new album!

Titled Goodbye To Misery, the upcoming album from the Aberdeen-based rock band is the follow-up to 2020’s Paradise and is scheduled to be released in April this year, via Inside Job/MNRK.

Recorded by Neil Kennedy [CREEPER, BOSTON MANOR, MILK TEETH] in May last year at The Ranch Studios in Southampton, the upcoming album intends to be 12 tracks born out of the want for a more positive future rather than the self-destruction and misery of its predecessor.

“This record is us saying you can break away from those things that are bringing you down,” frontman Ross Gordon explains about the upcoming album. “It’s about standing up for yourself and not letting anybody tell you what you should or shouldn’t be doing. It’s a defiant statement.”

Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; 32. The new song is the fourth single to be released from the upcoming album; following on from Kicking And ScreamingHome and Headstone.

Speaking about the new song, Gordon adds, “this is our ‘fuck this, let’s just get out of here’ track and the track that best channels the message of the album. It’s about overcoming hardship and growing as a person – facing all of your fears and insecurities – and realising that you’re never alone in that. It’s over-the-top; it’s punk rock on steroids and we can’t wait to play it live.”
