Kabbel release new music video for ‘Fiction Clouds’

KABBEL has released a new music video!

The new single, Fiction Clouds, is the latest track to be lifted from the French artist’s debut album, When The War Is Over, which is set for release on October 30th, 2026 via Music Of The Void, the label founded by PERTURBATOR.

Mixed by Lars Stalfors (HEALTH, PARAMORE, TR/ST, THE DARE), Fiction Clouds leans into synth-pop territory while exploring themes of LGBTQ+ minority stress and anxiety.

Speaking about the new single, Gregory Hoepffner says, “this song is about minority stress, which in my case concerns the LGBTQ+ community. It’s about the anxiety felt around potential or lived discrimination, rejection, or bullying. The stress becomes so internalized that it turns into constant paranoia. Sonically, the song lets this tension drive until the end, with a nocturnal ’80s synth pop production on steroids. I wanted it to feel like a dangerous dance.”

The artist has also shared details of the video’s concept, with Hoepffner explaining, “the video for Fiction Clouds expands the paranoia induced by LGBTQ+ minority stress into a short-film sequence. A younger KABBEL-doppelganger is caught in a liminal loop prison, exchanging his life with his older-self, while his own band members seem to hold him hostage of the situation. Directed by cinematographer Corentin Schieb [ALCEST, THE OCEAN, SIERRA VEINS…], this mental purgatory dives into the liminal blue aesthetic, where dream and reality seamlessly blend like a David Lynch fever dream.”

When The War Is Over is set for release on October 30th, 2026 via Music Of The Void. Pre-orders are available now and can be purchased here.
