The Untold release new music video for ‘Drown Your Bones’
THE UNTOLD have released a new music video!
The new music video, for the track Drown Your Bones, is taken from the Chicago-based progressive metal band’s upcoming new EP, Thunder and Water: Act One, and follows on from recent single, The End, which was released earlier this month.
Speaking about the new single, the band shares, “in continuation of our mental health theme that occurs throughout the album, Drown Your Bones speaks to the negative effects of bottling up and masking emotion and mental health issues. Too often people hide their suffering so as to not burden those around them. Whether it’s for pride, fear, anxiety or something else, showing weakness needs to be de-stigmatised and embraced. The longer we remain silent in a tormented state the more it becomes our normal. Whether it’s for better or for worse, there is comfort in normalcy, and comfort isn’t always the best thing for us.
“Run into the water. Drown your bones until they’re frozen.
Let your wounds go numb, but under oceans, your body’s still broken.”
It doesn’t matter how far down you suppress your emotional wounds. Numbing the pain doesn’t heal you, it just prolongs the healing, making it more painful when the numbness starts to fade. As the chorus states…”Cry out in pain”. It’s a plea to those close to us to ask for help when they need it.”
