Thornhill release new music video for ‘Mercia’

THORNHILL have released a brand new music video!

The new track, titled Mercia, is the brand new single from the Australian metalcore band and follows on from their latest studio album, BODIES, which was released back in April, via UNFD. The release of the new single comes ahead of the band’s headlining European and UK tour, which kicks off in October.

Speaking about the new song, vocalist Jacob Charlton says, Mercia is a song about loving someone lost in their own abyss. It speaks to the ache of giving everything – warmth, devotion, even the hope of carrying their pain – only to be met with silence and defences, by ‘vaults’ and ‘ice’. At its heart, the song is about the futility of trying to heal what resists healing, and the way that struggle leaves you altered, hardened, and haunted. By the close, the speaker admits they are sinking under the weight of their beloved’s spectre. They’ve been hardened by the experience – so much so that they can’t offer mercy anymore.”

The Mercia single and video were produced by THORNHILL & Sam Bassal, engineered by Sam Bassal, drums engineered by Lance Prenc, and mixed/mastered by Sam Bassal.
