Failure announce new album ‘Location Lost’

FAILURE have announced a brand new album!

Titled Location Lost, the upcoming record from the  influential Los Angeles alternative rock trio is the follow‑up to 2021’s Wild Type Droid and continues FAILURE’s decades‑long evolution of their signature atmospheric, experimental sound. Marking their seventh studio album – and fourth since reuniting after a 17‑year hiatus – the new record is set for release on April 24th via Failure Records/Arduous Records/Virgin Music Group.

Recorded after the completion of the Hulu/Disney+ documentary Every Time You Lose Your Mind, the album sees the band actively exploring new sonic territory rather than revisiting nostalgia, offering what Greg Edwards describes as material featuring “sounds and parts that really don’t have any precedence within the FAILURE world.”

The album’s first single, The Air’s on Fire, has been revealed alongside an official music video directed by Sean Stout. The track confronts vocalist/guitarist Ken Andrews’ traumatic medical experience following back surgery, its oppressive atmosphere mirroring his struggle to breathe during recovery. Speaking about the single, Andrews explains, “that song is directly about my surgery and waking up. I basically coded. Everything was spinning. I kept saying, ‘Turn the air on. I’m fine – just take me home.’ I was definitely not fine.”
