Mimi Barks releases new music video for ‘Dreamstate of Hell’
MIMI BARKS has released a new music video!
The genre‑blending Doom Trap artist has returned with her new single Dreamstate Of Hell, which is accompanied by an official music video and marks the beginning of the next chapter in her Doom Trap universe.
The new single was co‑written and produced by Ruben Cardenas of SMLE, with mixing handled by Owen Claxton, who previously worked on her debut album THIS IS DOOM TRAP and has also collaborated with BRING ME THE HORIZON and PRECIOUS. The music video was directed, produced and filmed by DEATH TOUR vocalist Demi Yo’Ko in collaboration with BARKS and was shot in downtown Los Angeles.
Speaking about the new single, BARKS shares, “sometimes it feels like the world is slipping into a dreamstate of hell and most people do not even realize they are asleep inside it. Everywhere I look, I see noise, decay, violence, distraction and now war becoming part of the daily landscape again. But to me heaven and hell are not places waiting for us when we die, they’re states of consciousness we create every day while we are here in the flesh. The real question is what you choose to feed: the poison or the light. Dreamstate Of Hell was the first song I wrote after moving to Los Angeles, and it became the starting point for everything that followed.”
